It had been raining for 2 days straight and this was the third one !!! On top of that, it was Sunday!!

After having bread pakoras for breakfast and a quick lunch of Rajma chawal, me and hubby thought of driving to the lake and back with our little one…  just a long drive on a rainy day.

And Wow!!! What a day it turned out to be…. We never expected that the next 2 hours are going to be one the best times of our lives.

The weather was nice and cool, with a constant drizzle… there were not many people around at the lake at that hour of the day….

Though both of us decided to get wet (drenched) the kiddo had a raincoat on….

He was so excited to be let out in the rain!! He kept running around and splashing in the puddles… the only thing any kid would want to do as soon as he sees a puddle… splash …. !!

and he ran through the long stretch of standing water !!

I had an idea and made him do what I always love to do in the rain – lift my face and feel the rain drops on my face…. It feels AWESOME !!! If you havent ever done that, try it the next time it rains ; YOU WILL LOVE  IT!!

There was a long trail of fishermen sitting patiently and waiting for their catch! Wondering what these people were doing, Ram (my son) was very curious to go and sit beside them!! We explained him how they were catching the fish!

One of the fishermen was too sweet and kind enough to show us his fish and touch it too !!

        

  

It turned out to be a really exciting and informative experience for him !!! so much so that he himself sat down at the bottom of the steps, caught hold of a long branch and pretended to catch the fish himself !! there were a lot of twines and water plants washed ashore. He would lift them up with his stick and pretend he caught the fishes !!

After a while, we started walking but ram had to remove his shoes and walk on the raised platform…. Now there was another play activity, and no, I did not come up with it. Ram himself did…  he started walking and would only place his foot on the stones, trying to avoid the cemented areas !

i guess he is still too young to be able to do this activity properly, but the fact that he came up with it on his own made me so happy !!

Very soon, he spotted the wild flowers growing on the slope on his right and immediately wanted them !

So I plucked out a few and made a bunch for him !! he carried it back home with him but sson forgot all about it as he stepped out of the car to enter his home !

All in all it was all fun and learning for the kiddo and enjoyable for us parents in two ways – one, we enjoyed the awesome rainy day weather after a long time; and secondly, it was a joy to see the kid learn through the nature and appreciate it. Also, we saw, how he can enjoy and play with the simple things that nature has to offer !!
