Birthday Cap

It’s tough to find a unique birthday cap for your little one – which is different from the rest of the kids’caps at the birthday party !! Here I enlist few of the caps that we made at home – quick, easy and “different” !!

1. This is a very simple crown that I made for my little prince for his first birthday ! I took a black chart paper, scissors, fevicol and some crystal stickers. I cut the black chart paper in the desired shape (here it is mountain peaked – but you can round it off or choose a more intricate design), measure the circumfrence of the crown’s mouth by adjusting it on your kid’s head and then join the ends. Decorate it with stickers, colored tapes etc.

2.  For my niece’s first birthday, her mom made a pink birthday cap to go with the theme of her party, with all frills and a badge. She made a cone with a pink chart paper taking measurement of the child’s head’s circumference. Then she cut long strips from pink, green and white crepe paper and stuck them with glue on the tip of the birthday cap and also on its circumference. With a green chart paper, she made a badge marking her first birthday.

3. For her second birthday, which was animal themed, my sister made a birthday cap from a bright yellow chart paper – adding eyes and ears from top. Some green satin ribbon was used to make frills on the cap’s tip for fun.

4. For my son’s 2nd birthday, we had a car theme for the party and it was a comparatively big event with all friends and relatives pouring in. Naturally, there wasn’t too much time to sit down for some craft work as I already had my hands full. So, i got a red colored birthday cap from the market only for him, all the other kids had plain silver birthday caps. I stuck some crystal stickers and added a car sticker on the top to mark the theme.
