In Kindergartens and Preschools, we end up celebrating may “color days”. So, this time it was “Black Color Day” for us !
I, surprisingly, had loads of stuff for my kids.
First of all, I decorated the board with all things that are black in color – just a little display for kids to see all day long.
Also, I had a tray with all things black in it, for the kids to touch, see and explore. We had a black pen, feather, wallet, paper, container, a lock, an elephant toy etc.
While few of the kids were busy exploring the black objects’ tray, we did a penguin craft (since it was winters during that time). We made penguin suncatchers and covered our class window with them.
Then we did a collaborative project of a night scene. I took a black chart (to mark the night) and all kids sprinkled silver glitter (on star shaped glue on the chart) to make stars on it.
Finally we did some wax relief painting. I drew a moon and stars with a white crayon on A4 sheets. Each of the kids got a chance to paint it with black color paint to create a night scene. I also added every kid’s name on the sheet.
Our full day was about the color black only. We sure had our hands full and had a great time too !!
