Holiday time requires us to keep the kids occupied. And sometimes we just run out of ideas !! How much of coloring can you do! Also, they soon get bored with the “same old toys”. So I keep on looking out for regular stuff around the house – so as to compile it, match it and make a fun game to keep my little one occupied.

My 3 year old had his winter vacations. I so wanted to relax in the sun – but that could happen only if he was occupied with something. So this time I went around my kitchen and collected circular lids of different sizes. Also, there was a cardboard piece lying around, which I took up.

I placed all the lids on the cardboard and traced them out. You can notice that some there is very little difference in the circumference of few lids. This I did deliberately, so that he takes more time to decide on which lid will go where.

He took his own sweet time to decide which goes where. And I relaxed in my easy chair beside him.

Finally, he managed to match and place all the lids to their correct tracing. He very proudly showed me his final work. I praised him and soon after he set off to do the whole thing again and yet again… I was a happy mom at that time 🙂
