Painting is so much fun and relaxing ! And it is all the more fun and exciting when we are little kids. I strongly believe that we should introduce our little ones to colors and paints from a very early age. It’s such a delight to see the wonder and amazement on their faces when toddlers are introduced to paints for the very first time.

Though I took few hand and foot prints of my son every now and then, but I got him to actually play with paints when he was around a year old.

I covered the table with newspaper and on top of it I pasted the white chart paper with tape. Then I laid the table with a plate, a bowl -half-filled with water, paints and brush. Though I dint wait to buy them, make sure that you use non-toxic paints. Also, do not leave the kid unattended.

I started by painting his hands in blue paint and made handprints on the white chart paper.

Then we made some more prints in green color too!

On a plate, you may place a small quantities of 3-4 colors, so that it is easier for the toddler to use them. Give them the brush & the paints and watch him explore and have fun. My son tried to paint his own hand later – maybe he was trying to copy what i did for him.

He made a lot of strokes with brush, but mostly loved to use his hands and fingers only.

And by the end of the 20 minute fun, he picked up the water bowl and the water also made its way on the chart paper, adding to the already pretty painting of my kiddo !

And then it was my pooch’s turn to get colored !!!

We painted a little on the face, arms and clothes too !!!

It was loads of fun and exhausting too. After we finished paiting, the kiddo got bathed and slept instantly. And cleaning up – thank God there was not much to do!
