Car Tracks, car parking, tunnels – these are the things every parent of a boy can relate to !! No amount of car tracks are enough and they get bored with one track very fast. How many can we buy and spend unnecessarily on !!! My Kiddo already has 4 tracks – BUT STILL WANTS MORE !!!

Here I enlist a few different ways of giving them new tracks which they will be indulged in for long time:

1. Car Track / Parking from waste cardboard box:

This is a simple car park / track that you can make with any cardboard or shoe box in a matter of minutes !! Take a box, do away with the bottom and cut various doors on all sides – according to the size of the cars. That’s it ! Try it out.

 

You want to be more fancy – color it / draw trees/ sign boards etc… or stick colored paper !!

2. Car track from blocks:

The only thing that my boy loves to make out of toy blocks is a Mall until he discover the car track made from them!!

So after a long session of building and dismantling all the blocks, he got busy with his cars, with all the blocks lying around. I just put all the blocks in a line, making it into a car track, as can be seen in the pic ! Ram got his cars and placed on the outer side making it into a parking lot. He got all excited to see that the blocks were used into something different !

3. Car Track from plastic bottles:

This one was “waste to use” in a very real sense !! Two 500 ml cold drink bottles and three toilet paper rolls, joined by tape and pasted on the door – as you can see in the pics below. it took me hardly 10 minutes to make. Now I feel I should have made this with only plastic bottles – as they are transparent and more fun for the kids to watch.

 

These are a few simple and easy ways to engage kids and help build their imagination !
