This is something we did when my son was about 4 years old (he is 6 now). We had come to Nani’s place to spend our winter holidays. It is the time that I like to lie down and relax in the sun. So, we went on to the terrace to spend some time. My kiddo was high on cars and tracks at the time. He insisted that he wanted to play with his cars on a track. But we did not have any track at Nani’s house. I remembered that we had got Ram’s street chalks with us. So I got them up on the terrace and started making a cars track for him.

I had a small mat and a sheet with me. I set it up and made him sit on. He gathered all his cars and trucks with him. Then, I started making a track around him.

While I was making the track, he got a little impatient. So,  I gave him few chalks to color the houses on the track.

I made a broad square road around him to move his vehicles on. Around the cars track, I drew houses, a petrol pump, fire station , police station and a school. Till the time I was on the job, he kept himself busy by coloring few houses.

After I completed the cars track, he got busy playing and I lied down on a separate mat and relaxed in the winter sun 🙂

After an hour or so, my little one got tired and sleepy.. So we went back home

We spent a nice and relaxing sunny, winter afternoon. You can also try this with your little one during the next winters. Keep him busy and you can relax and both of you can have a great time.
