Frankly, I had set out to make yet another track for my son, but with some buildings and tunnel, police station etc. I had all these bottles and boxes with me to carve out the buildings and all for the track.

Firstly, I pulled out labels from the bottles, used paints and permanent marker for detailing the buildings.

And these are the final housing buildings, police post, parking and a tunnel that I made:

All that was left was making the track with some colored tapes on the table in his room. But I had no idea what lay ahead of me. I got out the pizza boxes and thought of making a row of houses, and decided to  paste them on the wall, to make a background of the track. I cut out the pizza boxes in different shapes, trying to utilize the boxes to the maximum. Further, I took out a black marker and made the details on the houses.

Additionally, I took out more colored markers to add on some more details and color.

And the little munchkin got all excited and wanted to help and I let him.

But then, I don’t know what happened, and instead of making a row of houses for background against the table, I stuck all the houses on the wall near the floor (totally opposite !!)

And the madness started !!! I was totally lost into creating something totally different !!! I got out all the colored tapes and marked the front yards for all houses, the corner bakery, a bus stand, police station and pizza truck stand!!

We used all the bottles that were decorated initially and made housing buildings with, them; a park and a small pond (from the lid of the round bottle) with some water animals inside.

We marked the respective buildings with pens/ boards. Here is our bakery store, bus stand and the police station, where all rescue vehicles were placed.

All houses were given their respective yards with cars parked outside. The roads were marked with silver tape.

Yes !!! I surprised myself !! And the outcome was awesome. My little one sits and plays with it for hours.

He was so excited and delighted with the thing that he gave me a hug and kisses and said “thank you mumma, it is so beautiful !” And that was my reward!!! He even went on to tell his friends what his mom has made for him and called them over to show them the city !!!
